About Me
I have often considered myself a bit of a late bloomer.
Following a first career in marketing and advertising, I was privileged to be able to complete the medical school training and residency needed to become a psychiatrist. I then had a fulfilling career for 20 plus years as a psychiatrist who specialized in treating young adults with mental health problems. I retired from work as a psychiatrist in 2024.
Although now fully retired from the practice of psychiatry, I am still passionate about doing work that supports healing and recovery from adverse events. I was inspired to become a clinical hypnotherapist after my own personal experience with clinical hypnotherapy, which helped me get past some blocks of my own. I therefore completed the extensive coursework and clinical training with the Canadian Academy of Clinical Hypnotherapy to become qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist myself. I have been registered as a Clinical Hypnotherapist with ARCH Canada, an organization devoted to promoting the ethical use of clinical hypnosis and requiring a standardized, high-quality level of training, since 2024.
Outside my work, I am a happily married person with 2 grown children. When I am not working, you might find me in the garden, making or planning beautiful quilts, enjoying my exercise, or reflecting on the many blessings in my life. I look forward to helping you have the life you want too!
